I sat by the ocean.

I sat by the ocean

In solitude,

Calm and peaceful.

When I heard the tales the waves had to tell,

They talked about how the oceans, mighty and great

Flowed miles and drowned hundreds.

And then they glanced at me.

A mere object they said,

whose only victory was her ability to dream

To imagine.

They ignored my love for poetry ,

They dusted my interest to romance with words.

They laughed at my longingness to break the bars,

Mocked at my eagerness to fly,

Disbelieved my ability to win the battles I m fighting.

They had their reasons to look down upon me

I had mine to look up and keep walking.

With the breeze caressing my hair,

In the middle of the leaves rustling,

Waters clapping the age old rocks,

And the jingles of the sand below my feet,

Was when I realised,

After all isn’t this all that matters in the end?

Me. And my opinions of Me?

So I sat by the ocean, closed my eyes, smiled and continued dreaming.
